Description
After Burner II is a 1987 classic brought to you by Sega. As the second game in the After Burner series, it takes arcade combat flight simulation to new heights. Players take control of an F-14 Tomcat jet fighter, navigating treacherous skies and gunning down enemies while evading incoming fire. The game features both a standard arcade cabinet and a sit-down motion simulator version, offering immersive gameplay that moves in sync with the on-screen action. This updated re-release of After Burner includes additional levels, new enemies, enhanced soundtrack, and more disposable missiles. Above all, the game introduces manual speed control, a feature that adds a new layer of strategy and excitement to the gameplay. Despite its original name, most of the home computer and console ports are based on After Burner II. This includes the NES, Amiga, and Commodore 64 versions, each offering a unique take on this classic retro shooter.
