Renegade, a groundbreaking arcade game from 1986, introduced the beat 'em up genre's key features. Take control of vigilante Mr. K to fight street gangs and save his girlfriend in this retro classic.
Description
Renegade, released in 1986 by Taito, is a conversion of Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun, setting the stage for future beat 'em ups with its innovative 4-directional control and punch-jump-kick play action. It is well-regarded for introducing enemies that can sustain multiple hits, which later became a staple in the genre. In the game, you control a vigilante known as Mr. K who embarks on a daring mission to save his girlfriend from the grasp of street gangs. This game offers a unique, non-scrolling two-screen-wide area where you face off against various enemies, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Defeat the bosses, rescue your girlfriend, and prepare for the increased difficulty of the next cycle in this unforgettable arcade classic.
Game Controls
Use 4-directional control for navigation, punch and kick for combat. Avoid enemies' attacks while trying to strike them. Be aware of the boss characters that join the fight when only three underlings remain.
