Description

"Step back into the golden era of gaming with Altered Beast, a 1988 arcade triumph developed by Sega. Set in Ancient Greece, you play as a brave centurion, resurrected by Zeus, tasked with rescuing his daughter, Athena from the clutches of the nefarious Demon God, Neff. Showcasing side-scrolling, beat 'em up action, players can punch, kick, and jump their way through hordes of undead creatures and monstrous foes in beautifully designed levels inspired by Greek mythology. Unleash your inner beast with the game's unique power-up system, allowing the centurion to transform into different beasts such as a werewolf, a werebear, and a weretiger, each possessing unique abilities. From the dragon's flight and lightning to the bear's petrification, each transformation offers a fresh gameplay experience. The game was designed by Makoto Uchida, known for his work on Golden Axe. Altered Beast's memorable soundtrack was composed by Tohru Nakabayashi and Kazuhiko Nagai, adding to its nostalgic charm. Multiplayer mode allows for shared fun, making Altered Beast a game that stands the test of time.
