Full description:Embark on an adventure with Astyanax, a popular 1989 Nintendo Entertainment System game developed by Aicom and Jaleco. Astyanax, a 16-year-old student, finds himself transported to the magical kingdom of Remlia where he's tasked with rescuing its ruler, Princess Rosebud, from the clutches of the malevolent wizard Blackhorn. Astyanax is a single-player, side-scrolling game set in a fantasy world populated by creatures from Greek and Arab mythology, offering six stages of immersive gameplay. Whether you're navigating through treacherous forests, exploring dark caves, or confronting Blackhorn in his castle, each stage offers unique and challenging gameplay. As Astyanax, you're armed with the legendary axe Bash, which transforms into various forms, including a spear and a sword, and magical spells that freeze enemies, create fire blasts, and summon thunderbolts. With the arcade version allowing up to two players, and the NES version offering different weapons and spells, Astyanax provides versatile gameplay for all vintage game enthusiasts.
Game Controls
Astyanax offers an eight-way joystick for movement, with three buttons for attacking, jumping, or using a thunder attack that covers the whole screen. The player's main weapon is an axe, with a power gauge that fills automatically when the player is not swinging it.
