Description
"Blades of Steel, originally known as Konamic Ice Hockey in Japan, is an electrifying ice hockey game that was first introduced by Konami in 1987 for North American arcades. It came to the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1988, offering players a taste of high-speed hockey action with a unique twist - in-game fighting. The game features fictional teams based in real Canadian and American cities. Players can select from three difficulty levels: Junior, College, and Pro, with the option to engage in either 'Exhibition' or 'Tournament' matches. The game became renowned for its power-play opportunities following a fight and its second intermission, which features an advertisement for Contra, another Konami classic. Experience the nostalgia of retro gaming with Blades of Steel, where every match is a thrilling ride, and the fight for the Cup is just the beginning.
Game Controls
Gameplay in Blades of Steel is managed using the NES controller's cross-shaped joypad and two action buttons - the A button for shooting and the B button for passing or switching control. The Select button allows players to choose between one or two-player games, and the Start button is used to begin a game or pause the action mid-game. Movement of players, including the goalie, is managed with the D-pad.
