Description
"Immerse yourself in the world of Castlequest, an iconic adventure-puzzle game from the golden era of retro gaming. Developed and published by ASCII Corporation in 1985, this game is an early example of the Metroidvania genre. Your mission is to navigate through the complex labyrinth of Groken Castle, solve intriguing puzzles, and rescue the captive Princess Margarita. The game's mechanics involve pushing specific objects to advance and aligning items such as cement blocks and Honey Jars to unlock rooms. Beware of enemies like Knights, Bishops, and Wizards as you traverse the castle. The Family Computer and NES versions even allow for horizontal display as the player moves. The difference between MSX and NES/Family Computer versions is that the player can attack enemies with his sword only in the NES/Family Computer versions. Don't miss out on this classic piece of gaming history!
Game Controls
The game controls for Castlequest consist of basic movement controls for the Prince and the ability to push certain objects. In the NES/Family Computer versions, the player can also attack enemies with his sword.
