Description
World Championship Soccer, alternatively known as World Cup Italia '90 in Europe, is a pioneering soccer game for the Sega Genesis. Released in September 1989, the game brought the excitement of the 1990 FIFA World Cup right into players' living rooms. It stands out for its inclusion of 24 different playable countries and the first official FIFA World Cup licensed game features, such as the official logo and mascot. The game was ingeniously ported by Elite Systems for DOS, Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64, and ZX Spectrum and later rebranded as Sega Soccer. With a top-down view of the field, players can dribble, pass, and score goals in a simplified version of soccer. Teams are rated based on Speed, Skill, Defense, and Keeper attributes, with Brazil being the highest-rated team. Experience the fun of retro soccer gameplay with World Championship Soccer.
