The New Zealand Story is an engaging 1988 arcade game developed and published by Taito. The player takes on the role of Tiki, a brave and sneaker-wearing kiwi, who embarks on a daring mission to rescue his lover Phee Phee and several other kiwi chick friends from a menacing large blue leopard seal. The game stands out with its scrolling maze-like levels, each ending with a trapped kiwi chick to be released. Inspired by previous Taito games, The New Zealand Story also features power-ups and hidden 'warp' portals that lead to secret areas and shortcuts.
