Description

Exodus: Journey to the Promised Land is an intriguing blend of action, puzzle, and educational gaming, released for the Nintendo Entertainment System by Color Dreams through its Wisdom Tree label in 1991. As the biblical figure Moses, players must lead the Israelites through a labyrinth to the Promised Land. Armed with the power to shoot 'W's, symbolizing the word of God, players must defeat adversaries and clear obstacles. Each level requires the acquisition of five question marks and a certain amount of manna while avoiding enemies such as magicians and soldiers. The game also offers a unique educational twist - after each level, players must answer five multiple-choice Bible-related questions to progress. The final 50 levels mirror the first half but with tougher opponents. The familiar tune of 'Father Abraham' accompanies players throughout the game, adding a nostalgic touch to this retro adventure.
