Description
"Target: Renegade, stylized as TARGET: RENEGADE, is an iconic beat'em up game from the golden era of arcade gaming. Released in 1988 by Ocean Software and published by Taito, it was a popular title on systems like the Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, and ZX Spectrum. This thrilling sequel to the original Renegade was developed under the 'Imagine' label, with a unique Nintendo Entertainment System version crafted by Software Creations. As a streetfighter known only as 'Renegade', you embark on a mission of vengeance against a local crime boss, 'Mr. Big', who is responsible for the murder of your brother Matt. The game unfolds over five adrenaline-pumping levels, with varying enemies and weapons depending on the game version. Although the NES and C64 versions lack a two-player co-operative mode, Target: Renegade remains a staple in the world of retro action fighting games. Its legacy continued with the release of Renegade III: The Final Chapter.
Game Controls
The game controls for Target: Renegade were designed for use on the Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, and Nintendo Entertainment System. They can be adapted for modern gaming through the use of game emulators.
